1:1 Wellness Sessions (Online).

*Lexií Galbreath is currently a student*. I am studying to become a licensed Counselor. I am still undergoing supervision to obtain my license to practice privately and I have worked in a variety of ways in the field of Psychotherapy since 2022. Still a student myself, clients of my 1:1 Sessions can expect that my work will be monitored by my mentors. Following the ACA (American Counseling Association & HIPAA Laws) no personal information/client details ever gets shared with outside governing bodies, other Selkie Soul Work team members or instructors. Specializing in trauma recovery and grief care these sessions are designed to be a safe space operating via telehealth coaching and talk-therapy.

About Me.

I am an artist creating my own way. I live in many places: Newport, Oregon; San Diego, California; Donegal, Ireland; & the Provincia de Guanacaste area of Costa Rica. While Selkie Soul Work is based out of Newport, Oregon, I myself have the privilege & honour of traveling all over the globe to conduct my research & show others how to heal with nature. I identify as Irish-American although my father is African American. I am very family oriented and love my two brothers. I am a Leo/Virgo born right on the cusp at 7am on a Tuesday. I have a background in psychology, humanities, and earth sciences & I have also studied music and business. I love to learn about astronomy and anything pertaining to nature really. I really enjoy skateboarding and spend a lot of my free time doing that. I started to learn to surf as part of my recovery from my TBI (traumatic brain injury). I am a huge sports nut and have a favourite sports team/athlete for almost every sport. I am a total foodie & love to cook. I am also quite possibly Tom Hanks' biggest fan.

I would love to connect and learn more about you!

Past Experience & Education:

Bachelor's Degree
Oregon State University

After a long journey in the world of academia & completing study for Music & Business. I obtained a bachelor's degree at Oregon State University, studying Humanities & conducting Blue Health Research that is supported by & contributing to the International Surf Therapy Organization. Through my personal recovery & study I have fallen deeply in love with the world of psychotherapy. I started my Clinical Counseling at Oregon State learning the necessary tools & skills, as well as the laws, in psychology & counseling. Being lucky enough to travel the world to acquire hands on experiences while earning my bachelors degree in humanities I have become a master of my craft (Surf & Ocean Therapy). I have developed an eco-therapy surf & ocean therapy curriculum that fosters SEL (social emotional learning) experiences that have been proven to combat ACE's (adverse childhood experiences), a variety of traumas & grief, as well as, cultivating more self-love, confidence, & connection to thy self, thy neighbor, & the living world around us. Implementing DEI (diversity equity & inclusion) support in my curriculum to serve my community at large offering holistic healing, Blue Mind Practices, visualization & breathwork techniques, and so much more. If you have any questions I encourage you to ask me!

Surf Therapy Facilitator Training(s).
Groundswell Community Project

I became a Groundswell Community Project family member at the end of 2022. I was two years into my recovery & TBI & desperately seeking to continue my healing & personal growth. While attending an online United Nations World Ocean Day event I found Dr. Easkey Britton & her work where I discovered Surf Therapy via Liquid Therapy in Ireland. I immediately fell in love & was inspired by their work. I continued to investigate Surf Therapy & found Natalie Small, LMFT & her work as a pioneer in the field of Surf & Ocean Therapy. I have been lucky to become close enough to Natalie through my trainings & supervision & continue to learn the necessary skills needed for this type of work from her. After completing all of the GS Facilitator trainings, traveling to Peru (where I met Natalie for the first time in person), as well as holding space together since 2023, I now have the pleasure of being a Groundswell Community Project Board Member. Groundswell Community Project & all of our members are my family. Selkie Soul Work, LLC would not be the collective that it is without the support & guidance of Groundswell.

Grief Care Trainings
San Diego Pain Trauma Institute

I completed online grief care trainings with Tracey Chester, LMFT, CCTP in 2023 right before I started my business. I was still a bachelor's student also receiving education & training in humanities & psychology at Oregon State University. These trainings provided me the proper tools & skills to support others who are grieving. I have also obtained hands-on experiences working with many individuals & small groups struggling with a variety of chronic illnesses. Being diagnosed with hEDS in 2024 (very late in life) I can relate to the discomforts of uncontrollable & debilitating inflammation in the body. Through my trainings with Tracey Chester I have learned to adapt to support myself to the best of my ability allowing me to support others & do the work that I do. I continue to volunteer with the San Diego Pain Trauma Institute operating as part of their Ocean Safety Team for their Surf & Ocean Chronic Pain Therapy sessions, as well as operating as their Pacific Northwest Outreach Officer & as a Peer Counselor.
